CIP Constructions appointed builder of choice for Meyer Timber distribution warehouse in Yatala, Queensland.

CIP Constructions are pleased to announce that following a competitive tender process N&A Architects have appointed CIP Constructions as builder of choice for the new Meyer Timber distribution centre in Yatala, Queensland.

  • 11,445m2 distribution warehouse
  • 490m2 office
  • 9,857m2 external hardstand concrete

Meyer Timber Pty Ltd is a family owned business established in 1975. Over the years, Meyer Timber has become one of the largest timber wholesalers in Australia. Aside from traditional framing and flooring timber products, the company specialises in “Engineered Wood” products such as LVL, structural timber beams, Glulam members and a variety of timber claddings.

The facility is located in Yatala, Queensland, about halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and located centrally near transport links such as the M1 highway. The total site area is 27,719m2, with a warehouse area of 11,445m2

Additional Features of this build include:

  • 100Kw Solar panels system
  • 490m2 office prefabricated off site by Timber Building Systems(TBS) and installed in modular sections on site

Currently CIP Constructions are mobilising and preparing the site, including groundwork and working through design plans.

CIP CEO Mark Hendry states “It’s great to be continuing our relationship with N&A Architects and Meyer Timber. Having already delivered a facility for Meyer Timber and N&A Architects in NSW, it feels very natural to be back working on a similar build in Queensland. Our experience from NSW is front of mind and we are confident we will deliver another facility of the same high calibre.”

The 20,000m2 single storey NSW facility was completed in 2018 and later awarded the 2018 Innovative Structural Design from the Timber Design Awards for the use of timber for the construction of the entire warehouse, which proudly showcases the Meyer Timber LVL portal frames and Plywood box beam purlins.

This build joins other recently awarded construction builds in Queensland such as SPAR and Southcott Darra.
