CIP Constructions attend Groundbreaking ceremony at Rubix Estate after being awarded build contract for Décor Facility by Frasers Property Industrial.

Our CIP Constructions Melbourne team braved the winter weather by attending the groundbreaking ceremony for our latest awarded build for tenant The Décor Corporation (“Décor”), in a ceremony hosted by developer and site owner Frasers Property Industrial.

The ceremony marks the start of building on the new 24,466 square-metre Décor site, which includes a 14,244 square-metre warehouse and a 1,245 square-metre office. The facility is located within Frasers Property’s existing 41.3-hectare Rubix Connect estate, conveniently located 3km to EastLink and 35kms from the CBD.

CIP were recently awarded the build contract for the site, which once finished will accommodate leading Global Homewares business Décor. The contract also involves the construction of two further speculative facilities with a total site area of 41,695 square metres.

The build also features over 11,000sqm of external heavy duty paving accommodating 4 dock leveller loading docks per warehouse as well as over 300 car parking spots.

Once completed, the build will be 5 Star Green Star Design and As-Built v1.3 certified by the Green Building Council of Australia thanks to the use of a rainwater capture and reuse system, as well as solar power (WHA 100kw, WHB 70kw, and WHC 100kw) and other green measures.
The facility’s office areas will have two green walls, with each outdoor area lined with Accoya timber and planter boxes, allowing tenants to personalise their outdoor space.

The award recognises Victoria’s strong demand for industrial space, as well as CIP and Fraser Property’s long partnership, which has seen them collaborate on numerous projects over the years, most recently on the Braeside Industrial Estate, which delivered a 30,823sqm print production and warehousing facility for ASX listed tenant IVE Group.

CIP Constructions Senior Project Manager Jim Connell states “Its great to be continuing our working relationship with Frasers Property Industrial and to be back on site with the team from IVE Group. The team are currently mobilising on site and are eager to get the crushed rock in place, laying the groundwork for the build to commence.”

Frasers Property Industrial and CIP Constructions have worked together many times before, including industrial developments in Keysborough, VIC; Richlands QLD; and Beverley SA.

CIP Constructions are currently mobilising on sites around Australia, with a strong pipeline of projects in Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia. You can keep up to date with our latest projects by following us on social media.
